What is stuckism

it’s a pretty recent branch of art that got its start saying that “you are not an artist unless you paint” and then proceeded to protest any forms of performance art or modern painting and sculpture. strangely, this movement seemed to have started when its leader was told by his ex-girlfriend that he was “stuck in the past” (i speculate she was just being nice and that she actually meant he had some form of arrested development)

i stumbled on the wiki article for stuckism one day and i kept reading up on it because i thought "no, there's got to be a purpose for this movement right? this isn't just a bunch of white guys trying to discredit entire branches of art to spite a bunch of women.... right??" wrong, actually. who woulda thought

just wanted to get down some thoughts i might actually reblog this after the next episode comes out since i think the part i’m talking about will definitely be in the next ep

ok so EVEN THO eren isn’t as dead as he looked, i feel like his “death scene” did shake up the classic shonen formula enough that it allowed us to pull out of the mindset that “eren is our shonen hero” and widened the focus to show that ALL of the main three characters operate as one hero. the point is that a collective can succeed, but a single hero definitely can’t do it on their own just through sheer power, like a goku or a naruto

they call him a merchant in the translation me and c were watching

which would make sense with that one part where they were talking about how “if the merchants had access to the sea they’d rob it of all its salt” so yeah imma say crunchyroll’s translation is Not So Good

i'm kind of hopeful that the whole "we're being treated like cattle" thing resolves itself as "so we as a people must all revolt together"

see, the translation i'm reading in the attack on titan manga says that the greedy dude is the head of a corporation, but the anime translation i saw named him as a "union boss" which really fucking changes the context of the scene
