shared universe would be cool if there weren’t dozens of writers trying to tell stories at the same time while the management wants the status quo to be relatively static to sell more books or something
it’s why i like the marvel movies so much, they take each movie one at a time and each film contributes a lil bit to the universe
that’s way more fun imo

tomorrow i will try to make a minecraft server and see how long it takes me to work around all of minecraft’s weird multiplayer issues
it was really fun following minecraft when things actually happened to it and then suddenly everything started drying up and notch started posting video game reviews and nerf guns and no updates happened and the slow dawning sadness set in
yeah it was pretty clear that after laying a basic foundation for the game systems he decided he was done optimizing or refining the core gameplay and just wanted to move on. that’s why there’s like…. cool concepts and items in the game but the gameplay and even the engine are poorly constructed
